| culture-tour - Die FROGlar, new plans, new route, new team |
| culture-tour – hier Die FROGlar, der neue Plan, die neue Reiseroute (SEE END FOR ENGLISH VERSION) Wer? Die FROGlar! Allgemeine Bezeichnung für interkulturelles Reise- und Projekt Duo bestehend aus 1 x 27-jährige türkische Filmproduzentin von Kinderprogrammen aus Istanbul und 1 x 36-jährigem Wandervogel mit Lehramtsverbildung aus dem Münsterland. Die Bezeichnung setzt sich zusammen aus dem deutschen Pluralartikel, dem englischen Wort für Frosch und dem türkischen Pluralsuffix. Die FROGlar halt. Was? – Der Plan – kleine interkulturelle Kinderfilm- und Fotoserie 1. Ergebnis eines langen Meinungsfindungsprozess die unterschiedlichen Lebensstile der FROGlar Mitglieder auf einen gemeinsamen Nenner zu bringen. 2. Schnittmenge der Interessen, Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen beider Teammitglieder. 3. Logische Konsequenz wie wir damit auch mittelfristig ein wirtschaftliches Auskommen erreichen können. Mit anderen Worten: Man nehme folgende zwei Zutaten: Evrens Ausbildung an der Filmakademie und ihre 9-jährige Erfahrung beim türkischen Fernsehen in Konzeptionierung, Planung und Produktion von Kindersendungen und kombiniere dies mit meinen Interessen und Erfahrungen in fremden Kultur- und Sprachräumen. Es ergibt sich – nach langem Weichkochen der Hirne – das Vorhaben ein Kinderfilmserie mit landeskundlicher Thematik zu drehen. Ist dies ausreichend für eine erste Vorstellung? Falls nicht, demnächst mehr ;). Da wir an exotischen Orten drehen und dabei mit verschiedenen Menschen unterschiedlichem gesellschaftlichem Hintergrund in Kontakt kommen werden, bittet es sich an, die Gelegenheit für eine kleine Fotoreihe bzw. Diashow zu knipsen. Woher? – Die Reiseroute Einmal um die Welt, an sich nichts Neues. Jedoch ist der Ansatz ein neuer. Das kleine FROGlar Medienprojekt wird natürlich weder ein Sonntagsspaziergang noch ein Strandurlaub sein. Sich einfach treiben-lassen und schau’ ma’ mal is’ nich’ mehr. Diesmal wird gute Planung und Vorbereitung notwendig sein, damit das Projekt auch später erfolgreich wird. Am Ende des Tages, oder besser, des Jahres wollen wir auf diese Steine eine finanzielle Existenz aufbauen. Preproduction and Postproduction wird eine Menge Arbeit bedeuten. Einmal unterwegs muss alles funktionieren. Ohne Komplikationen wird es wohl nicht gehen, aber größer Pleiten, Pannen, Verzögerungen und alles-vor-immer-wieder-neu-organisieren können wir uns dann nicht mehr erlauben. “Um die Welt in 13 Episoden” Die ersten ein, zwei Episoden haben wir geplant in Deutschland und/oder der Türkei zu drehen. Die Generalprobe sozusagen. Sich mit der technischen Ausrüstung vertraut machen, das Format verbessern, das Drehbuch ändern, eventuell bereits auf potentielle Käufer, Förderer und Sponsoren zugehen. Hier haben wir die bessere Infrastruktur um den unweigerlich auftauchenden Problemen zu begegnen. Glücklicherweise haben uns eine Reihe der ersten Leute welche von unserem Vorhaben erfuhren ihren Rat und ihre Unterstützung in technischen und organisatorischen Fragen, sowie bei der Gestaltung der Reiseroute und Kontakten in den Drehländern angeboten. An dieser Stelle vielen Dank. Ich hoffe andere von euch schließen sich noch an. Hier nun der erste grobe (Fahr)plan. Zeitrahmen 1 Jahr. Die Wegstrecke ergibt sich aus der Überland- (wenn möglich auch Übersee-)verbindung der 13 Drehorte in den folgenden Ländern: 1. Türkei / Deutschland 2. Estland 3. Russland / Sibirien 4. Mongolei 5. China 6. Südostasien (noch genauer zu bestimmen, eventuell Vietnam) 7. Malaysia 8. Indonesien 9. Australien 10. Südpazifik 11. Mercosurländer (wahrscheinlich entweder Argentinien oder Chile) 12. Andenländer (wahrscheinlich Bolivien) 13. Brasilien Abenteurer? Spinner? Tagträumer? und was nicht noch – Wollt ihr mitmachen? Wir waren eigentlich vorbereitet auf solche vorab Pauschalurteile. Für Leute die nur auf die Ziehung der nächsten Lottozahlen hinfiebern oder für diejenigen welche eine unkündbare Beamtenanstellung als die letzte Erfülle und Vorstufe zum Nirvana erscheint, muss es auch so aussehen. Jedoch waren wir angenehm überrascht, dass wir während unserem zaghaften outing ein überwiegend positives feedback bekamen. Dies ist wirklich ermutigend und so sind wir den um so zuversichtlicher. Wo es kritische Stimmen gab, waren sie sehr konstruktiv, hilfreich und haben uns bereits einige Schritte voran gebracht. Na zugegeben ein wenig riskant ist es schon – aber auch nicht wirklich zu viel. Außerdem gilt wer nicht wagt, der sitzt auch bei Sendeschluss noch vor der Glotze. Dies soll auch keine autistische Übung werden, sondern wir hoffen, dass wir auch ein interessiertes Team von Tippgebern, Informationslieferanten, Ratschläglern, Kritikern, Verkupplern und Kontakt Börsianern als auch Mitkämpferinnen und Mitkämpfer zusammen bringen. Transsibirische Eisenbahn – Schon gefahren? Bis nach Malaysia werden wir wohl fast ausschließlich mit der guten alten Eisenbahn unterwegs sein. Züge wie die Transibirische haben auch nicht nur Zweibett- und Massenkabinen, sondern sie bieten auch bequeme Vierbett Abteile an. Hört sich das nicht einladend an? Bis dahin gibt es aber auch noch eine Haufen zu tun. Beim Lesen oder Nachdenken über das Projekt oder die Länder der Liste ein wenig Lust bekommen irgendwie mit einzusteigen? With other words: We take two ingredients. Evrens education at the film academy and the fact that she works already 9-years now for Turkish television conceptionalising, planning and producing children movies and combine it with my interest in and experience of other cultural and linguistic environments. What comes out – if you boil your brain long enough is the plan to produce a children serie with country and culture related topics. Is that sufficent to get a first idea? If not, more next time ;) Given the fact that we will be shooting a movie at exotic places and together with different people of various cultural backgrounds taking pictures at the same time for a later slide show or foto serie seems to be a must. Diashow zu knipsen. Which way? - The TRAVEL ROUTE Once around the World! Well, nothing new it seems. Nevertheless the method will be totally new. The little FROGlar Media project will, of course, not be a sunday promenade or a beach vacation. Just-to-go-with-the-flow and well-see-what-happens is not the way to do it anymore. This time good planing and preparation will be necessary so that the project will be successful later. At the end of the day, or better the year, we want to build our existence on these accomplishments. Preproduction and postproduction will require a lot of preparation and work. Once we are on the road everything will have to function. Without any complications will be impossible, but greater disasters, disruption, delays and organise-everything-new-everyday will be not acceptable then. "Around the World in 13 Episodes" The first one, two episodes we have planned to shoot in Germany and/or Turkey. The final test so to speak. Getting familiar with the technical equipment, improving the format, changing the script, maybe already approaching potential buyers, supporters and sponsors. Here we will have the better infrastructure to deal with the inevitable problems that will occur. Fortunately quite a few of the first people who started to learn from our enterprise have offered their advice and support in the technical and organisational field and by shaping the route around the world. Thanks a lot a this point and I hope many more will join. Here now the first rough plan of the route. Time frame 1 year. The route results from the overland (if possilbe oversea) connection of the 13 film shooting places in the following countries: 1. Turkey / Germany 2. Estonia 3. Russia / Siberia 4. Mongolia 5. China 6. Southeast Asia (still to decide, maybe Vietnam) 7. Malaysia 8. Indonesia 9. Australia 10. South Pacific (still to be determined) 11. South America / Mercosur (still to decide) 12. South America / Andean countries (most likely Bolivia) 13. Brasil Why these countries? The reasons are manifold: On the one hand these are the ones we are most interested in. On the other hand many of these destinations attract the attention of other people. We also think, that it is a good mixture for the children serie format we have in mind. No doubt, it would have been excellent to include North America and especially Africa, but we thought better not to exaggerate right away. Adventurer? Nuts? Day dreamer? and what else - You want to join? We were prepared for such general up-front statements. For those who just look forward to the next drawing of the lottery and for whom the immune officer position is the last revellation or last step to the Nirvana it has to look like that. Nevertheless to our surprise and comfort we encountered during our first outcome an overall positive feedback, support offers and interest in joining the porject in one way or the other. Great! This is quite encouraging and therefore we are optimistic that it will work out at the end. There were critical comments, but they were quite constructive, helpful and did let us advance a good step. Well, we admit it might be a bit risky, but not too much and - no risk, no fun, no success. We do not want to execute an autistic exercise, but hope that we can bring together an interested team of hint hunter, Information suppliers, advisers, critics, connectors, contact brokers as well as fellow fighters and travellers. Transsiberian Railway - Done it already? Up to Malaysia we will take almost exclusively the train as mode of transportation and trains like the Transsiberian Railway have not just two-bunk- and mass cabines to offer but also cosy four bed apartments. This invites to join, doesn't it? ;) Before that we will have still enough left to arrange. Reading or pondering about the project or the countries makes to want to join? Well, here we can specify it a bit more… 1. Composition of the most adequate technical equipment for film and picture shooting on the road. 2. Contact to friendly and trustworthy people on the way and especially in the countries we want to shoot an episode in. Not to forget children around 8 to 12 years old who are easy-going in front of a camera and want to become the anchor child of one of the episodes. 3. A children and foto serie is, of course, a big multimedial enterprise and therefore different kinds of computer- media- children- and marketing skills are highly appreciated.. The last word “The longer a mail turns out to be the higher the resistance is to answer it”. I know. Once again I violated this elementary rule of our fast-running time.
